Sonostar’ SS-1300 OCT-proven broadband frequency swept tunable lasers are specifically designed for Swept Source Optical Coherence Tomography (SS-OCT) and Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry (OFDR) applications. Each laser includes an integrated Mach-Zehnder Interferometer, which can be used for easy wavenumber triggering. A BNC connection is located on the rear panel of the laser to access the interferometer’s signal.
The SS-1300 has a typical center wavelength of 1300 nm and 20 mW average power. This laser is ideal for multi-layer biological tissues imaging. It scans at a rate of 50 kHz over their tuning range to provide real-time 2D and 3D imaging capabilities when used in an OCT system. The broad wavelength tuning ranges of these lasers are important for SS-OCT because the broader the spectral range, the higher axial resolution. The standard interface settings make this swept source module easily integrated into OEM systems.
