Single-row angular contact ball bearing comprises an outer race, an inner race, a row of steel balls and a holder. This type of bearing can simultaneously subject to radial load and axial load. It can also be subject to pure axial load and operate in high-speed. Single-row angular contact ball bearing can only be subject to axial load from one direction. When being subject to radial, additional axial force will be caused, and only the axial displacement of shaft and housing in one direction will be limited.
Though this type of bearing can only be subject to unidirectional axial load, it can combine with another bearing being subject to negative direction load. If the bearings are combined and mounted in pairs, the same outer race ends of a pair of bearing are made to be opposite, namely the wide end is opposite to the wide end (back to back DB) while the narrow end is opposite to the narrow end (face to face DF), the cause of additional axial force will be avoided, and shaft and housing will be limited in axial windage range in two directions.
Ball charge of single-row angular contact ball bearing is larger than deep groove ball bearing of the same dimension. So its rated load is the largest in ball bearings, its rigidity is strong, and its operating is smooth. Radial windage can be adjusted by utilizing mutual displacement of the inner race and the outer race, and preload can be generated by connecting several sets of bearings, so that the rigidity of the system will be enhanced.
The characteristic of this type of bearing is that the contact angle is not zero. Standard contact angle of single-row angular contact bearing are respectively 15°,25°,30° and 40°. The magnitude of the contact angle determines radial force and axial force bearings can be subject to when working. A large contact angle indicates a great axial load capacity of the bearing. But a smaller contact angle is favorable for high-speed rotation.
Single-row angular ball bearing is not provided with windage. Only matched angular contact ball bearing has inner windage. According to work condition requirements, matched bearings are divided into two types, namely preload (preloaded load) and pre-windage (preset windage). The inner windage of preload matched angular contact bearing is 0 or negative. The preload matched angular contact bearing is mainly applied on machine tool main shaft to improve rigidity and running accuracy of the main shaft. The windage (preload) of paired angular contact bearing has been adjusted before leaving factory, so user does not need to adjust it. The width tolerance and end projection amount of normal single single-row angular contact ball bearing is produced according to plain grade, so the bearings can not be paired and matched at will.
ZQZ also produces versatile matched angular contact ball bearings, which can be matched in any mode, such as back to back, face to face or in parallel etc. Two types of matched bearing, namely preload (preloaded load) bearing and pre-windage (preset windage) bearing, are offered. All the matched bearings are not provided with interchangeability except for versatile matched bearing. This type of bearing is mainly applied on high-speed, high precision and little axial load occasions, such as airplane engine main shaft, machine tool main shaft and main shafts of other high-speed precision machine. It can also be applied on high frequency motor, steam turbine, oil pump, air compressor and printing machine etc. it is one of the bearings most widely used in machinery industry.

In order to enhance rigidity and carrying capacity of angular contact ball bearing, angular contact ball bearings are often matched in modes as duplex(DB,DF,DT), triple(TBT,TFT,TT), quadruple(QBC,QFC, QT)and quinquefarious(PBC,PFC,PT,PBT,PFT)etc. For duplex angular contact ball bearings, it can be provided with three matching modes, namely face to face(DB), back to back(DF) and series connection(DT).
Back-to-back matched angular contact ball bearing is applicable for separate or united radial or axial load, and it can be subject to bidirectional axial load. It can also be subject to major overturning moment, and offer lower system rigidity. It has an advantage of low bearing block concentricity error sensitivity. Series matched angular contact ball bearing is only allowed to be subject to major axial load in one direction. In most cases, preload is thrown by spring, and radial load the bearing can be subject to and the bearing rigidity is determined by selected preload value.
Matched bearings are divided into two types, namely preload (preloaded load) bearing and pre-windage (preset windage) bearing.
