How Does It Work?

The photocatalyst mosquito trap is fitted with UV lamps and titanium dioxide (TiO₂) coated reflector.  When UV rays irradiate on the titanium dioxide coating, photocatalytic oxidation is achieved and strong oxidizing hydroxyl radicals (-OH) are formed.  These hydroxyl radicals aggressively destroy and decompose bacteria, pollutants and allergens, which are in the end broken down into harmless carbon dioxide (CO₂) and water molecules (H₂O).  While in the process of disinfection and deodorization, mosquitoes are lured by the moist carbon dioxide similar to the breath of human beings and by the UV lights at the same time.  When flying into the device, mosquitoes are sucked by a turbo fan into a net at the bottom and dehydrated to death.  The photocatalyst mosquito trap provides a new solution of eco-friendly pest control with the co-functions of air purification, deodorization and sterilization.
