C9 Hydrocarbon Resin, petroleum hydrocarbon resin, C9 petroleum resin, aromatic C9 hydrocarbon resin is a kind of Aromatic Hydrocarbon resin produced by C9 fraction, by products of petroleum cracking, through pretreatment, polymerization and distillation. It isn't a high polymer but a low polymer with the molecular weight between 300-3000.

 

Character:

Low acid value; easy mutual solubility, resistant to water, resistant to ethanol and chemicals. It has the chemical stabilizing property to acid and alkaline, viscosity adjusting and thermal stabilizing. Generally, the resins are not used independently, but have to be used together with other kinds of resins as promoters, adjusting agents and modifiers, C9 petroleum resin is widely used in adhesive, rubber and tire industry, also can be used in painting and printing ink industry.

 

Applications:

1. Adhesives industry:

C9 petroleum resin has good adhesion. In the process of producing adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives, the addition of petroleum resin can not only improve the adhesive bond strength, acid, alkali and water resistance, but also reduce the production cost effectively.

2. Tire and Rubber Industry:

C9 petroleum resin of low softening point is mainly used in tire and rubber industry. It has good miscibility with natural rubber particles and little influence on rubber vulcanization. Being added into rubber and tires, petroleum resin can play the role of tackifier, strengthening agent and softener.

3. Paints industry:
Paints mainly use C9 Hydrocarbon Resin with high softening points,C9 Hydrocarbon Resin added to paints can increase the final finishes of paints, the adhesiveness of paint films and the hardness. Resistance to acid and alkaline.

4. Ink Industry:

Printing ink industry mainly uses C9 petroleum resin of high softening point. The addition of petroleum resin into printing ink can reach the effect of show color, quick-drying and brightening and improve printing performance, etc.
