Spherical roller bearings have two rows of rollers with a common spherical raceway in the outer ring and two inner ring raceways inclined at an angle to the bearing axis. In addition to high radial loads, this type of bearings can accommodate high axial loads acting in both directions. It also has superior design and reliable performance. The bearings are inherently self-aligning and robust, which are insensitive to misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing and to shaft deflection or bending.
