Drilling Stabilizer
Stabilizers are made from premium chrome molybdenum alloy steel (except for non-magnetic style), heat treated by special procedure and obtain expected hardness, strength and impact value properties. All threads are made strictly in accordance with API specification. All stabilizers should be ultrasonic tested. We can offer Integral Spiral Stabilizer, Integral Straight Blade Stabilizer, Non-magnetic Stabilizer, and Replaceable Stabilizer.
Metalwork Technology’s integral non magnetic stabilizer is made from one solid forging of non magnetic steel. The material is high purity Chromium Manganese Austenitic stainless steel. Upon request, MTWK also sells Non Magnetic Stabilizer Forging to customers.
Metalwork Technology has the capacity to produce Non Magnetic Stabilizer up to OD 26”.
Mechanical Properties Magnetic Permeability

Yield Strength: min 100KSI Average: 1.005
Hardness: min 285HB
Replaceable Sleeve Spiral Stabilizer is made of a body and a centralizing body (refer to sleeve replaceable). The advantage is that the sleeve can be changed quickly and easily after sleeve hardfacing is worn out. This kind of stabilizer is especially suitable for working in directional well.
Drilling stabilizer is an important tool to control hole deviation in petroleum and gas exploration drilling process. The types of it can be divided into drill string type and near bit. There are four kinds of abrasive resistant materials on the working surface of stabilizer: insert tungsten carbide buttons, insert diamond compound body, low temperature welding tungsten carbide pieces, hardfacing electrode on the surface and so on.
The integral blade stabilizer can be divided into two types: the drilling string type and the near bit type. This tool is used to prevent the well from tilting in drilling operation. It can prolong the service life of the bit; effectively reduce down hole vibration and also promote penetration rate and wellbore quality.
