Application:
TMTD can be used as a single accelerator, as a secondary accelerator or as a sulfur donor in most sulfur
cured elastomers.
TMTD is scorchy and gives fast cure rates. In sulfurless and EV cure systems TMTD produces
an excellent vulcanization plateau with good heat aging and compression set resistance. Good color retention is obtained in nonblack vulcanizates.
TMTD is a valuable secondary accelerator for EPDM. In the vulcanization of polychloroprene rubber with N, N' -ethylene thiourea, TMTD may be used as a retarder.
