Lat. Curcuma Longa, is the root of an perennial plant from the Ginger family, native to tropical South Asia. Turmeric is used as a food coloring agent and finds uses in beverages and baked products, milk products such as: Yoghurt, Ice Cream. It is a significant ingredient in most curry powders.
