Cinnamyl alcohol is an organic compound that is found in esterified form in storax, balsam Peru and cinnamon leaves. It forms a white crystalline solid when pure, or a yellow oil when even slightly impure. It can be produced by the hydrolysis of storax.

Usage
Cinnamyl alcohol has the elegant fragrance, it smells like hyacinth and is used in perfumery and as a deodorant. It also used as fruit type food flavor; wine flavor; food additives in chewing gum, bakery, canndy, soft drink, cold drink. Cinnamyl alcohol is the raw metirial of cinnamyl cinnamate. Cinnamyl alcohol can also used as organic intermediate. Cinnamyl alcohol should be avoided by people with perfume allergy.
