Specifications

High Silicon Cast Iron (HSCI) Anode is the buried component of impressed current systems for cathodic protection of land and marine structures from corrosion. The benefits of high silicon cast iron anodes are their low price and they can last a long time.

High silicon, cast iron, tubular anodes are used for a variety of cathodic protection applications including deep well anode systems, shallow anode installations, offshore applications as well as many other types of cathodic protection systems.

Tubular anodes are popular for their increased surface area, higher current output, centered cable connection and enhanced sealing properties due to the additional sealing materials used inside the anode.

The alloy contains chromium which is better suited to situations where chlorine or other aggressive agents may be generated by electrolysis (e.g. in seawater or in deep well ground beds).

Other features

Composition High Silicon Cast Iron
Chemistry ASTM A518 G3 and BS 1519 14.4
Chill Cast in Metal Molds Optimizes metal structure and consistency of weight and dimensions.
Cable Connection Lead connector hydraulically pressed into taper seat at anode center withstands 1000 kg cable tension and 1000 kg dislodgement force. Quality controlled process outperforms 0.001 ohms criterion for connection resistance.
Sealing the Connection Novoid A and epoxy encapsulation optimizes reliability and seals the anode-to-cable connection.
Thicker Walls Improved impact resistance and shipment reliability.
Compact Diameter Enhances Deep Well utilization.
Quality Control ISO 9001:2000 Anodes are manufactured, inspected and tested in accordance with documented procedures.
