Description:
The root of Sophora flabvescens Ait. containing many kinds of alkaloids composition, including Matrine, Oxymatrine, Hydroxyl-Matrine, Allomatrine, Cytisine, Cymene-cytisine, Monolupine, Baptifoline. Also containing Xanthohumol (P), Isoxanthohunol, Isodeoxy-Epimedium breviconum, Kurarinol, Norkurarinone. The seeds containing Fatty-oil and a little  Cytisine. And  Luteolin-7-glucoside consisted in the stems and leaves. The character is cold, bitter and a little toxic.

Pharmacology function:
It is mainly used to treat acute bacterial dysentery, enteritis, jaundice, tuberculo-osmosis pleurisy, tuberculo-peritonitis (ascites), the infection of urinary tract, leucorrhea, hemorrhoids galling, lepra.
