Sodium chlorate is a white or yellowish crystal;the proporition thereof is2.49 and the melting point is 248 to 261oC ;it is salty and cool;Sodium chlorate is extremely hygroscopic,soluble in water and sloightlysoluble in alcohol;while being heated to 300oC and above,it is easyto decompose and then release oxygen.Inaddition,it has afunction of strongoxidizing in acid solution.
 
Sodium chlorate is mainly used for manufacturingchlorine dioxide,sodium chlorate,and other chlorate and perchlorate,Meanwhile,it is also used in the bleached  paper pulp of the papermaking
 industry,the herbicide ,theoxidizing agent ,the dye printing ,the tanning ,the medicine,the metallurgy andthe mineral processing ,etc.
