Name: Ammonium Fluoride
Molecular Formula: H4FN
CAS No.:12125-01-8
EINECS No.:235-185-9
Molecular Formula: H4FN
CAS No.:12125-01-8
EINECS No.:235-185-9
Properties:
It is a white acicular crystal with relative density 1.009. It is easily agglomerative. It is soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. It will decompose to ammonia and ammonium bifluoride when it is heated or in hot water. The aqueous solution appears to be acid. It etches glass.
Usages:
It is used as glass etchant, preservative of wood and wine-brewing, disinfector, analytical reagent, textile mordant and dropping reagent of zirconium. It is also used for extraction of rare elements.
