The color of pearl pigment is related to the color substrate, you can see transmitted light from any angle on the white substarate and the interference color is not obvious. But if you print the ink on black or other dark substarate ,the transmitted light will be absorbed by that and the interference color wil become obvious on the angle of reflection.
