Available sizes:
Plate: Thickness 16 – 300mm, width60 - 520mm
Delivery condition: EAF, Hot rolled, Black surface, Prehardened Hardness 28 – 34HRC
Some stock available.
Properties:
Plastic mould steel with excellent machinability properties because of the high S content, good toughness properties, good wear resistance, uniform hardness in all dimensions, dimensional stability, requiring no heat treatment, 280 - 325HB hardened and tempered condition, suitable for nitriding to increase wear resistance, not suitable for chrome plating, polishing and etch graining.
Applications:
Injection dies without special surface requirements and low mechanical stresses, medium and large sized moulds for plastic processing, dies of light alloys with low melting point, mould fittings, mould frames for the injection moulding and die casting industries, compenents for general mechanical engineering, tools for synthetic plastics processing, die holders, support plates, casings, chases, recipient sleeves, constructional parts, hyrdo forming tools.
Heat Treatment:
Annealing: 710 - 730 °C
Hardness after annealing: Max. 230 HB
Stress relieving: Approx. 650 °C
Hot forming: 1050 - 850 °C
Hardening: 870 - 890 °C
Quenching media: Oil, Salt bath, Vacuum
