Sieve bending screen
Sieve Bend Screens ,aslo known as side hill screens, parabolic screens, run down screen ,gravity screens and DSM screens, can be custom designed to separate solids from liquids in various application including food processing, pulp and paper, waste water cleanup, surface water intakes, corn wet milling, coal preparation, and gold recovery.
In operation, the feed enters the feed box then overflows across a distribution weir onto a feed plate that directs the flow tangentially onto the screen surface and the solide down the surface of the screen to the discharge lip.
The screening surface is a curved stainless steel wedgewire screen
Shaped wires positioned perpendicular to the direction of flow.Typically, end bars are welded on the top and bottom of the screen for strength and installation purposes.
The dewatering capacity of a wedgewire cross flow sieve bend screen is primary influenced by the screen width, the slot opening, and the wire size(width).
The following chart shows dewatering capacity in GPM per foot of screen width. The slot opening and wire width are given in inches.
Dewatering capacity can also be slightly increased by increasing the screen length(arc length).
