The barite (BaSO4) is brightly pure crystals. Color is variable but is commonly found colorless or white, also blue, green, yellow and red shades. The barite is mainly used for petroleum and natural gas welldrilling. The hardness is 3-3.5. The specific gravity is 4.2-4.3g/cm3. Because of its high gravity, it is very special in those non-mental minerals. It can be extracted as material to make barium. After grinding, the powder can be used as weighting agent for petroleum welldrilling.
