EGCG, extracted from green tea, is a main activity in green tea. It is the highest component in catechin, accounting for 9% -13% gross weight of green tea. Because of EGCG’s special three-dimensional chemical structure, it has a very strong activity of antioxidant. The antioxidant activity is at lest 100 times effective than vitamin C and 25 times effective than vitamin E at protecting cells and DNA from damage which are believed to be linked to cancer, heart disease and other potentially fatal illnesses. It can provide energy for the cells of the most exterior cuticular layer, making cells division and cell differentiation again, thus strengthening its activity and improving the skin surface.
