Properties:
The Dimethyl Sulfoxide is a kind of colorless and diaphanous liquid at ordinary temperature. It is polar, hygroscopic with high boiling point and combustibility. As a kind of none-protonic and inert solvent, it has extremely low toxicity and strong thermal stability. It can be mixed with water, and dissolve in most organic solvent such as ethanol, acetone, chloroform, benzene, etc. As one type of weak oxidant, a little compound such as methyl mercaptan, formaldehyde, Dimethyl Sulfoxide and methane sulfonic acid will be produced when it meets with acid and heated.
Usage:
It is widely used in extraction of aromatic hydrocarbon, external remedy, inositol nicotinate, antioxidant 1010, esterification accelerant, pharmaceutical, extraction solvent, water paint,
capacitor, neoplasm treatment, paraffin refine, motor vehicle’s antifreeze in high and latitude cold area, pesticide synergist, etc.
