The Austenitic Stainless Steel has good plasticity, toughness and property for cold working in solid solution state and has better corrosion resistance in mediums such as oxidizing acid, atmosphere, steam, etc; it has high intensity after cold working, but its extensibility becomes worse.

The steel is mainly used in making structure parts and welding parts that have low requirements in corrosion resistance and intensity, such as external decorative material of building; it can also be used in making nonmagnetic parts and parts of low temperature device. But it has a tendency of intercrystalline corrosion after sensibilization and welding, so it is not suitable to be used as welding material
