L suspended backwall is as the gable wall of glass furnace instead of traditional arch structure gable wall. It has the following advantages:

1. Filling pocket can be much wider, close or equal to the size of melting tank. In this way, much thinner batch fed can be realized so that the batch can be melted more easily.

2. The distance between bottom edge line and top surface of sidewall is short, this can reduce fire and batch running at the charge end and hence energy can be saved and environment can be improved.

3. The L suspended backwall with high reliability and long life span is one of the essential measures for prolonging the whole furnace life.
