Roof construction is stiff, sealed and consists of self-bearing bolted elements. It allows leaning oversilo galleries directly on the roof making for an economy of steel as compared with a variant of gallery lean on foundation plate. Calculation of silo roof is made for the region mentioned by the Customer.
Silo walls are made of corrugated galvanized steel sheets with different thickness connected between each other by bolts.
For hovering stability of the construction steel stiffeners (supports and straps) of different thickness are used. Connections between the supports and wall sheet are made by means of bolts. In silos with big handling capacity (more than 2,000 tons) special rings are used to increase wind resistance of the construction.
Steel (non-galvanized) silo elements are treated by hot-dip galvanizing or are painted by special zinc-containing solution (Zn not less than 96%) at the Customer's request.
For operation within process flowsheet silos are furnished with remote system of temperature monitoring system and with level indicators.
Silos of all types are loaded via a hole in the silo roof by means of conveyors located on oversilo steel galleries or via gravity spouts. Silos with hopper bottom are discharged by means of gravity spout through the hopper. Silos with flat bottom are discharged via a hole in foundation mat and finally the silo is cleaned by means of a sweep auger.
Discharged product comes in undersilo conveyors and is conveyed to other plant's buildings by operator's instructions.
Manhole is provided in the silo through which it is possible to reach inside the bin and to inspect and clean the silo before filling with new grain batch.
The silo itself is an useless thing without above mentioned filling and without grain receiving devices, drying, cleaning and displacement device and requires specific infrastructure.
