TD CNC Routing Machine is a specially designed solution to help revolutionise the production and manufacture of TD pre-insulated aluminium air ducting construction within the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry.
TD CNC Routing Machine is powered by our unique version of TD software which brings to you a complete solution for revolutionising the fabrication of insulated ductwork within the HVAC industry.
Using our TD CNC Routing Machine and our specifically designed enclosed automatic tool changer, V grooving and cutting the panel shape can be done in one process, giving massive savings in all aspects.
Our automated technology takes out the labour intensive work traditionally required for duct panel production and removes the need for marking out, creating templates or using hand held tooling for cutting.
Other applications include: routing and V-grooving aluminium-polymer composite materials, routing aluminium grilles and diffusers, cutting galvanised sheet metal, cutting aluminium louvers for air conditioning and architectural applications using sheet metal products.

Fabrication Process – Traditional
The manual construction of a TD pre-insulated Duct follows a standardised procedure. The process is the same regardless of the shape of the duct element; tracing, cutting, gluing, folding, taping, flanging and reinforcement; and sealing.
Tracing evolves using one of a number of many purpose made templates and scribing an outline.
Cutting and grooving is done with a variety of specially made jack planes.
Glue is applied to all mitred surfaces with a curing time of 10-20 minutes.
The stages of the fabrication process are very labour intensive and time consuming, do not always give a good end product and create a great deal of waste material.
 

Fabrication Process - Automated
Our TD software comes with an extensive parametric library of ducting components allowing full control of the panel configuration and dimensions. All panels can be nested to maximise sheet usage and reduce material cost.
A simple click of the mouse transforms the nested files directly to TD CNC Routing Machine ready for processing. Once the machine receives the program the components are then produced exactly to specification whether it is a simple "one off" or mass production.
