The same principle of operation of chiller heat pumps can be used as an air cooler (air conditioner). Only the energy transfer is carried out in the opposite direction. How does a heat pump can cool the air?
In this case, control of air temperature in the room appears cold, coming from the soil. Instead of heating the radiator fan coil is connected to the pump. Fan coil - is, in fact, all the usual indoor unit split system. The distribution of revenues between the coolant radiator heating (winter) and fan coil units (in summer) is distribution system pump.
In the passive cooling heat pump equipment is not involved.And in active employ additional cooling units - heat exchanger and the compressor pumps, which provide additional cooling.
