Specifications

Description:

Alumina Bubble is an electric arc furnace product made from high purity Bayer process alumina and the product chemistry is similar to that of white fused alumina. Alumina Bubbles are formed from molten alumina and are atomized with compressed air which leads to the hollow spheres. The melting point is approximately 2100 °C. It features uniformly distributed micropore, proper micropore size, high water absorption. Due to its hollow spheres, Alumina Bubble has a low bulk density and extremely low thermal conductivity. It is also chemically inert.

Applications:

Alumina Bubble is used in the production of lightweight insulating refractories where low thermal conductivity and high temperature properties are the prime requirements as well as for loose-fill refractories. It can be used for sleeves production or high insulating ceramic shells for investment casting. It can also be used as a bed in the firing process of vitrified grinding wheels and as a media to filtrate aggressive liquids or melts.
