Product Description
HSFI&HESI Fault Indicator is installed on the overhead lines. When line fault comes, the line inspector can determine the fault section, fault branch and fault point quickly by the alarm display on the indicator. It changes completely the methods of blind line inspection and finding the fault area through switching on one area after another in the past. Thus, it reduces the area and time of power outage and improves the reliability of the power supply.
Principle of the Fault Indicator
Based on the embedded industrial MCU chip and at the same time using the adaptive technology and low power technology, HSFI&HESI series fault indicators were developed as a new generation of short-circuit & earth fault detecting and positioning products and are used in the transmission and distribution system, featured with strong anti-interference ability, low static power consumption and high reliability on detecting and indicating.
Short-circuit Fault Detection Principle
(1) Line running
(2) Tuning the value of the fault current automatically based on the load current (can also tuning the value of the fault current based on the requirement of the customer).When If/I0 makes a mutation and becomes larger than the tuning value (If is the fault current of the line, I0 is the load current of the line).
(3)Turn off the power supply (The voltage of the line is less than 3000V).
Earth Fault Detection Principle
(1) There is a sudden change on the transient line current, for example, the mean square root of the mutation on the line current in 3ms is larger than 15A
(2) The line voltage is less than 3000V for over 15s (this period can be tuned)
Features of the Fault Indicator
Quick in finding the fault: by addressing the fault line and fault range quickly, the fault can be found quickly so that to reduce the fault shooting time.
