Standard: GB/T 469-2005
Main Application:
Lead is used mainly within the electronic industry for the production of battery cells, different type of cables and fuses.Lead sheets and pipes are used in metallurgy and laboratories for anti—corrosion and acid resistant purposes. Also used to produce vari—OUS types of alloys and chemical paint; used for blocking atomicene rgy and X-raylayer, protective screen and Military usage.
Specification and Packaging:
The lead ingots are a long trapezium shape.the measu rements are 645mm X 128 mm X90mm.the net weight is approximately 48Kg.The lead ingots are bundle by zinc plated steel cables. There are about 25 ingots per bundle and the net weight is about 1200 Kg.
Physical and chemical properties
Under absolute dry conditions lead will not have any chemical reactions. The lead ingotsa re easily melted with nitric acid, fluoroboric acid, Fluo rosiIic acid, acetic acid and Silver nitrate, hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid, which becomes a hard to melt Lead oxide with a sulphuric lead surface layer, enabling the ingot to resist corrosion.Lead’S melt-ing point is 327.4℃, boiling point is 1744℃, at 500—550℃ it becomes volatile.Lead’Smalleability is good, extensibility is poor, compressed as lead plates, but unable to pro-d¨celead th reads lead can absorb radiation and screenol Jt radioactive material.
Transportation, storage
When transporting and storing lead ingots it must be stored away from acidic and alka—line places.Lead ingots should not be left out in the open when raining to avoid con-tamination of the product. Before utilizing lead ingots, it is best to wipe off any miscel—laneous content to avoid affecting the performance of the ingot.
