1. Silicone Rubber for Art Sculpture mold making applications :
Hongye RTV silicone rubber can be used to cast a variety of materials including wax, gypsum, low melt alloys/metals and urethane, epoxy or polyester resins.

The following mouldings can be reproduced and cast by Silicone Rubber: architectural bracket mouldings,
decorative garden resin statue mouldings, gypsum plaster ornament mouldings, cornices, round corners, corbels mouldings, ceiling roses, medallion mouldings, pilaster and balustrade mouldings, art sculpture mouldings, quick prototyping, precision castings, art sculpture molds, landscape mouldings, precast stone mouldings and so on.

2. Silicone Rubber for Art Sculpture mold making features:

Liquid Silicon rubber for mold making is white or red flowing liquid with general hardness of 22-50A° after curing. Molding silicon rubber is a kind elastic silicon rubber mold which features with resistance to deformation, high-temperature, acid-alkali and expansion as well as high reproduction times, good tensile strength , tear strength and elongation. Our curing agent is free charged.

3. Silicone Rubber for Art Sculpture mold making process operations:

Room Temperature Vulcanization (RTV) rubber molds are the least expensive and fastest way to create about a dozen prototype parts. As shown in the figure below, even with undercuts, the part is able to be removed through distortion of the mold.

A. Process and prepare the model mold or the product to be duplicated,
b. Take certain amount of the silicon rubber, add 2-3% solid curing agent, and mix evenly and they are ready for use.
C. Once cured, the RTV is removed from the vat and separated from the pattern and parting line surface to yield the two halves of the molding tool. RTV air-cures, so that the cure time depends on the geometry, the RTV type, and the environment. Cure time can range from . 5 to 40 hours. Aging of the mold after cure for up to three days can improve mold life.

4. Frequently asked questions of Silicone Rubber for Art Sculpture mold making

What should we do when the air bubbles appeared in the process of Silicone rubber
mold making ?

To handle this situation depends on different cases. Under the condition of an available vacuum pumping machine, mix the silicon rubber and curing agent evenly and then take it to vacuum chamber to deair. If without a vacuum pumping machine, reduce the amount of the curing agent properly. For example, change the mixing ratio of the silicon rubber and the curing agent from former 4% to 1%-2%. In this way, the pre-crosslinking time of silicon rubber will slow down, so the air in the mold will be eliminated gradually to reduce the air bubbles.
