Satic Mixer Series
 

A static mixer is a precision engineered device for the continuous mixing of fluid materials.Normally the fluids to be mixed are liquid, but static mixers can also be used to mix gas streams, disperse gas into liquid or blend immiscible liquids. The energy needed for mixing comes from a loss in pressure as fluids flow through the static mixer.One design of static mixer is the plate-type mixer and the other device consists of mixer elements contained in a cylindrical (tube) or squared housing. Mixer size can vary from about 6 mm to 6 meters diameter. Typical construction materials for static mixer components included stainless steel, polypropylene, Teflon, PVDF, PVC, CPVC and polyacetal.

Design

In the plate type design mixing is accomplished through intense turbulence in the flow.

In the housed-elements design the static mixer elements consist of a series of baffles made of metal or a variety of plastics. Similarly, the mixer housing can be made of metal or plastic. The housed-elements design incorporates a method for delivering two streams of fluids into the static mixer. As the streams move through the mixer, the non-moving elements continuously blend the materials. Complete mixing depends on many variables including the fluids' properties, tube inner diameter, number of elements and their design. The housed-elements mixer's fixed, typically helical elements can simultaneously produce patterns of flow division and radial mixing:

Flow division: In laminar flow, a processed material divides at the leading edge of each element of the mixer and follows the channels created by the element shape. At each succeeding element, the two channels are further divided, resulting in an exponential increase in stratification. The number of striations produced is 2n where 'n' is the number of elements in the mixer.

Radial mixing: In either turbulent flow or laminar flow, rotational circulation of a processed material around its own hydraulic center in each channel of the mixer causes radial mixing of the material. Processed material is intermixed to reduce or eliminate radial gradients in temperature, velocity and material composition.

Applications 

Today, static mixers are used for a wide range of different applications in many different market segments. A common application is mixing two-component adhesives (e.g., epoxy) and sealants. Other applications include wastewater treatment and chemical processing.Static mixers can be used in the refinery and oil and gas markets as well, for example in bitumen processingor for desalting crude oil. In polymer production, static mixers can be used to facilitate polymerization reactions or for the admixing of liquid additives.


 

1, SV type static mixer

Unit is a cylinder assembled by certain specifications of the corrugated board, the technical characteristics: the highest degree of dispersion of 1-2μm, the unevenness of the liquid-liquid phase for σx ≤ 1-5%

Applicable to the viscosity ≤ 102 cps liquid-liquid, liquid-gas, a stretch of mixed gas, emulsification, reaction, absorption, extraction, and strengthen heat transfer process. dh ≤ 3.5 applies to viscosity ≤ of 102 cps clean media; dh ≥ 5 apply to media that may be associated with a small amount of non-bonded impurities.

 

2, SK type static mixer

1. Product Characteristics
The unit is installed and welded by laterally twisting spiral slices in single pore passage. Technical characteristics: Highest dispersion degree≤10μm, liquid-liquid and liquid-solid nonuniformity.

We have developed DN10~DN500 SK static mixers with processing range of 0.15m3/h~706m3/h. SK static mixers are suitable for mixing, reaction, extraction, absorption, injection molding, color combination and heat transfer processes in chemical industry, petroleum, pharmacy, food, fine chemical industry, plastic, environmental protection, synthetic fiber, mining and metallurgy and other departments, and mixing process of low, medium and high pressure equipment, especially high-viscosity mediums with less flow and impurities or viscosity≤106cp.

We have developed DN50~DN500 SX static mixers with processing range of 3.5m3/h~706m3/h. SX static mixers are suitable for ≤104cp liquid-liquid reaction, mixing and absorption process or mixing and reaction process for producing high polymer fluid, and mixing process of medium, low and high pressure equipment, and have better using effects when treatment capacity is very large.

6, SMV type coal gas static mixer

7, SQS Series Gas and Water Mixer

Product Characteristics
     SQS series gas and water mixer, as a new energy-saving and eco-friendly product, effectively uses steam to directly mix with water to heat water. Mainly comprising spray pipe, casing, net board and gasket, it is featured by low noise, no vibration, high heat exchange efficiency and energy conservation and widely used for systems of domestic and production hot water, hot water heating and heat deoxidization. When cold water passes through La Farr spray pipe, the steam sprays into water from outside of the spray pipe through many inclined orifices on pipe wall, and the water and steam is instantly and uniformly mixed in high speed flow to achieve the aim of online heating.
Steam quantity needed by different heaters for heating hot water of different temperature at rated flow is counted by the following formula:

For the specifications of different models of the heater, in the rated flow, the heating to different temperatures of the hot water to the desired amount of steam can be calculated:

8, JHF-1 Series Static Mixer

Structural Characteristics and Mixing Principle

     JHF-1 series static mixer is suitable for heat exchange process and polymerization reaction process of high-viscosity medium. Film coefficient of heat transfer can reach 200~400/m2.℃ for medium with viscosity of more than 3,000 cm, and volume heat transfer rate reaches 1020KW/m2.℃, improving 4~5 times than common tube type heat exchanger and 2 times than plate type heat exchanger. It is suitable for heating, cooling and heat recovery process of high-viscosity mediums.

Product Characteristics

    JHF-1 strengthening heat transfer mixing reactor is specially used for strengthening heat transfer process of high-viscosity mediums. It doesn’t need to combine with other accessories and directly connects with the pipeline, and its individual heat transfer coefficient can reach 100~400W for 3,000-450,000CP high-viscosity mediums, which is 4-5 times of that of common tube type heat exchanger.

Static mixer series

 
 

The mixing process of a static mixer is carried out by a series of mixing units with different specifications installed in a hollow pipe. The mixing units function to rotate the fluid towed the left sometimes and to the right sometimes, changing the flow direction, so that, the center fluid is not only pushed to the surrounding, but the surrounding fluid is pushed to the center, resulting in a good radial mixing effect. At the same time, the fluid relying on its own rotating effect will also rotate on the interface of the connected part of adjacent components; this perfect radial circular flow mixing effect makes materials uniformly mixed.

The static mixer is designed, manufactured and accepted completely according to the industry standard JB/T7660-95 static mixer.

[Range of Application]

The static mixer can be used for mixing, emulsification, neutralization, absorption, extraction, reaction, and strengthening heat transfer and other processes of liquid - liquid, liquid - gas, liquid - solid, gas - gas, and can also be used for intermittent operation and continuous operation within a range of very high viscosity in the state of different flow types (laminar flow, transition flow, and turbulent flow). A brief introduction to the scope of different applications is made at first in the following.
(1) Liquid - liquid mixing
The fluids with a viscosity in the range of 10 Mpa•s from the flow layer to turbulent flow can be mixed well. The smallest diameter of dispersed droplets can reach 1 ~ 2μm, and they distribute uniformly in size.
(2) Liquid - gas mixing
The static mixer can make the phase interface between liquid - gas two-phase components keep continuously updated and full contact, and the bubbling tower and sieve-plate column can be replaced under certain conditions.
(3) Liquid - solid mixing
When a small quantity of solid particles or powder mixes with a liquid (the area of the solids accounts for about 5% of the area of ??liquid) in the turbulence condition, and using the static mixer can force the solid particles or powder to be fully dispersed, so as to extract or bleach the liquid.
(4) Gas - gas mixing
It can be used to mix cool and hot gases and to mix different gas components.
(5) Strengthening heat transfer
 As the static mixer increases the contact area of ??the fluid, which improves the heat transfer coefficient. In general, the cooling or heating of gases is completed by use of the static mixer, the heat transfer coefficient of gases can be increased by 8 times; the heat transfer coefficient of gases for heating viscous liquids can be increased by 5 times; the heat transfer coefficient can be increased by 8.5 times when condensing the gas in which a large quantity of non-condensable gases exist; the heat transfer of polymer melt can reduce the temperature and viscosity gradient on the pipe cross-section.

 
 

  SK static mixer

 
 

SK unit is welded by spiral pieces in group with single pore canals that turn around to the left and right.
The uniformity coefficient of liquid-liquid phase and liquid-solid phase is as follows: σX ≤ 1 to 5%.
It is suitable for the mixing, reaction, extraction, absorption, injection molding, color, heat transfer and other processes in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, food, fine chemical, plastics processing, environmental protection, synthetic fiber, mining and metallurgy and other fields, and especially suitable for high viscous media coupled with a relative flow and impurities at the viscosity of no more than 10 centipoises.

[Notes]

In engineering design a purpose of mixing is generally completed by a single mixer or series static mixers; if two static mixers are in parallel operated, a uniform distribution of fluid should be ensured when the piping is designed.

When using a small size of SV type, if the medium contains impurities, two parallel filters (such as SBL-S filter) that are in parallel  operated by switching should be set in the front of the mixer, 40-20 meshes of stainless steel filter screen is generally used as the filter screen.

Any flowmeter, temperature gauge, pressure gauge and other indicating instruments and detection points shall not be installed on the static mixer to the greatest extent, and special requirements shall be illustrated when ordering.
