Specifications
Cold Work Tool Steel AISI D6 is a high carbon, high chromium tool steel grade offering very high wear resistance with edge holding quality. It is an air hardening alloy tool steel.
n Excellent resistance to wear and abrasion.
n Good through hardening properties and dimensional stability combined with high resistance to
tempering.
n Cutting-edge endurance quality.
APPLICATIONS: Blanking dies for cutting transformers sheets, paper and plastic blades, deep drawing tools, stamps, moulds for pressing abrasive powders, tools.
Heat Treatment:
Forging: 1050 to 850°C Cool slowly in furnace or thermoinsulating material
Annealing: at 800-850°C Cool slowly in furnace at a rate of 10 to 20°C/hr down to approx. 600°C, further cooling in air. Hardness after annealing : max. 250HBStress Relieving: 650 to 700°C Cool slowing in furnace
Hardening: 950-980°C
