Luoyang Kewei Molybdenum & Tungsten Co.,Ltd in China plans to annually produce 1,500 rotatable target molybdenum tubes (RTMT) for use in 8.5-generation TFT-LCD manufacturing from 2015, turning it into the third supplier in the world, its G.M. Zhang Lingjie said in a recent interview with MB.
"Our molybdenum output is expected to rise from 600 tonnes this year to at least 1,000 tonnes in 2015, mainly thanks to RTMT," Zhang said. Kewei has already obtained robust booking orders for RTMT from TFT LCD makers, and the company plans to start producing and supplying clients in the first half of 2015. That would make it the third RTMT producer in the world, after Plansee and HC Stark, Zhang said. The Luoyang-based company is currently capable of producing RTMT of up to 2.7-meters in length, with prices nearly 40% lower...
