Activated alumina has a large capacity of absorption,high surface area,high strengthand thermal stability.It is widely used as an absorbent,desiccant and catalyst carrier in chemical,petrochemical,fertilizer,oil and gas industries.
Activated alumina is usually a white sphere,insoluble in water and organic solvent,but soluble in strong acidic and alkalin solutions.It is moisture adsorptive in air,not expanding and cracking after absorbing water.Activated alumina has the characters of high strength,resistance to sulfate poisoningad good thermal stability.It is often used as catalyst in the Klaus sulfur recovering unit for treating gases with sulfur acid containing in petrochemical and other industries,with its high inversion rate,long durability and effective desulfurization on exhaust gases.
Activated alumina is also applied as catalyst for Klaus sulfur recoverng technoloty in oil refinery with H2S acidic gas,natural gas de-sulfur,city coal-gas and other industry processes.
