This carrier has characteristics of small bulk density, pore volume larger than specific surface area, and uniform pore size distribution. By using activated alumina carrier, iron and molybdenum as active components, the organic sulfur hydrogenation catalyst has high hydrodesulfurization activity and good stability.

The catalyst is suitable for the hydroconversion of organic sulfur in coke oven gas, and also for the hydrogenation and saturation of olefins contained in the gas, to protect the following normal use of various catalysts.

The product have high hydrogenation conversion to thiol, sulfide, thiophene, COS, CS₂, etc.
