GPO3 Pultruded Tubing is a fiberglass reinforced thermoset polyester composite in a pultruded tube. GPO3 Pultruded Tubing is flame resistant, track resistant. and it has a UL index rating of 130°C electrical and 160°C mechanical. GPO-3 tubing exhibits uncommon dimensional stability. It is impervious to high humidity or immersion. GPO3 is also strong and durable (with a burst strength of 1200 psi to 1400 psi); yet it is easily chamfered and cut with carbide or diamond saws. Tubing Composites are ideal for numerous tubing applications, and commonly used for a wide variety of fuses, from simple 15 amp fuses to heavy-duty 600 amp fuses. They are available in virtually any length or size in the standard color black; yet they can be customized to accommodate a range of other color preferences.
G5/G9 Tubes Glass Reinforced Melamine - natural (grayish brown)
This grade is composed of a continuous glass woven cloth base impregnated with a melamine resin binder. Melamines are the hardest of all laminates, exhibiting good dimensional stability and arc resistance. It is also caustic resistant.
G-9 is a laminate sheet comprised of flame retardant melamine resin and woven fiberglass glass substrate.? G9 is compliant with MIL I 24768/1, Type GME. G5 material is compliant to MIL I 24768/8 Type GMG.? The two melamine sheet materials are very similar except that the G-9 material has higher resiliency to harsh and adverse environments than the G5.? In most cases, the G-9 can be substituted for the G-5.
The G9 material has high strength and excellent arc resistance and electrical insulating properties which allows it to be used as mechanical support in electrical equipment, switchgear, and slot wedges where Class "B" insulation is required.? Out of all the thermoset laminates, Melamine is the hardest material making it extremely stable and rigid.? G-9 material is also resistant to most harsh chemicals.? G9 maximum operating material is 285° F.G5/G9 Tubes Glass Reinforced Melamine
NEMA grades G5 and G9 Glass-Cloth Reinforced Melamine -- natural color is typically a grayish brown. These grades are composed of a continuous glass woven cloth base impregnated with a melamine resin binder. (Melamine resins, once cured, are the hardest, most rigid and abrasion resistant of the standard resins employed in the production of industrial laminates. However, prolonged exposure to high temperature can adversely affect its mechanical and electrical strength properties. Arc resistance, however, may remain unaffected despite excessive thermal exposure.) Melamines are the hardest of laminates, exhibiting good dimensional stability and arc resistance. It's also caustic resistant. A key difference between NEMA Grades G5 and G9 are that G9 is more resistant to the elements of the environment. Thus, G9 can be safely substituted where G5 is called for
