Principles and Features of Half Spiral SKD Energy Saving Lamp
Compact fluorescent lamps are a type of light bulb which uses fluorescence as its primary means of creating visible light. A CFL consists of a glass tube which is coated with a fluorescent material on the inside. Fluorescent materials are able to absorb certain frequencies of light and then glow, emitting new light at a greater wavelength than they absorbed. CFL tubes are filled with a mixture of gases containing trace amounts of mercury which becomes excited and emits ultraviolet light when an electrical current is sent through it. The ultraviolet light is absorbed by the fluorescent coating on the inside of the glass tube, and is converted into visible light which has a longer wavelength than ultraviolet light. The amount of energy needed to excite the gas is far less than the amount of energy needed to heat up the filament in a normal light bulb, and as a result, less energy is lost in the form of heat.
