DL Starter operation should be trouble free as long as it has been fitted correctly.

On turning the winding handle first two turns in a clockwise direction the input adaptor should be

rotated smoothly and causing the pinion move forward engaging with the flywheel ring gear.

Further winding will cause the spring pack compressing and energizing as viewed through the

viewing window on the body.
