Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) viscoelastic preparation is used in anterior chamber during the cataract extraction, intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and extraction, as well as other ophthalmic surgeries. It may keep the depth of anterior chamber and reduce the trauma of corneal endothelium. It also works as lubricant and filler, and can protect ocular tissues like a pad. It is an ideal supplementary material in ophthalmic surgery. HPMC is transparent colloidal solution, made by dissolving highly pure raw HPMC (imported from United States and approved by U.S. FDA) in balanced sodium solution. It is stable and easy to be kept under room temperature. As a type of macromolecule polyose, it is sterile, nontoxic, nonpyrogenic, noninflammatory, highly viscoelastic and can be used as biological material.
Direction
Dose may be varied in different surgeries, but usually 0.2 ml is common in anterior chamber surgery. Suggest using it between 20 and 25 ℃.

1. Sterile package for single use. Do not use it if package is broken
2. Avoid overinjection. Wash it out as completely as possible after surgery
