Introduction
Ball mill is the key equipment for recrushing the materials after they are primarily crushed. According
to the raw materials and discharging methods, ball mill can be divided into dry type ball mill and wet
type ball mill.
Uses and Scopes
Ball mill is widely used for grinding of all kinds of ores and other grindable materials in cement,
silicate product, new building material, refractory, fertilizer, black and nonferrous metals and glass
ceramic industry.
According to service conditions, ball mills can be divided into:
1.Wet ball mill: grind materials into ore slurry, usually with a concentration of 60-70%.
2.Dry ball mill: grind materials into requested ore powders. The fineness of the ore powders can be
adjusted according to the grinding body condition and the feeding speed.
According to the structure, ball mills can be divided into:
1.Grate type ball mill: it is better to use grate type when customers need even end products with even size 0.2to0.3mm. Grate type ball mill can discharge qualified products timely, which will avoid over
crushed and improve grinding efficiency. Therefore, it is often used in first stage of ore grinding.
2.Overflow type ball mill: particle of end products is usually smaller than 0.2mm. Overflow type is
commonly used to grind intermediate products in second stage of ore grinding. Compared with grate type, capacity of overflow type is 15% less in the same condition. And load of grinding medium of
overflow type is also less than grate type.
According to arrangement, ball mills can be divided into :
1.Dextrorotary type: standing in front of discharging end and looking at the feeding end, the
transmission part is on left side.
2.Levorotary type: standing in front of discharging end and looking at the feeding end, the
transmission part is on the right side.
