1) Remove the fuel cap from the car.
2) Clean the surface of the cap with alcohol.
3) Attached 3M double stick tape to the cap, 3 strips on the face of it will do.
4) Place the cap flat on a table.
5) Place the overlay first onto the right side of the cap (the part that you life to open the cap).
6) Then firmly press the left side down until it snaps into place.
7) Reattach cap tp car.
