The principle of  BG test:

(1-3)-β-D-Glucan activates Factor G and the serine protease zymogen, which in turn cleaves pNA from the chromogenic peptide 
substrate. BG test quantitatively detects the concentration of fungus (1,3)-β-D-glucan base of the change of pNA.

The advantages of BG-test 

1. The positive outcome of BG test is normally shown 4 days ahead of the clinical symptoms. 

2. BG value normally increases 5 days ahead of fever appearance; 10.7 days ahead of respiratory symptoms; 9.3 days ahead of
HRCT outcomes.
