Overview

 

Surfadol 440 is the adduct of 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol and ethylene oxide. Different degrees of addition results in Surfadol 420/440/465/485, as showed in following table.

 

The ethoxylates are good wetting agents and defoamers for water based paints, inks and adhesives.

Applications 

 

Water based paints, water based printing inks, water based gravure inks.  

 

 

Usage

 

1. Ensure fully mix with agitation for 15-30 minutes, heating if necessary.

2. Add Surfadol 420 surfactant after other surfactants and polymers have been added.

3. If pigments, fillers or other solids are being incorporated, add them after the Surfadol 420 surfactant.

 

4. Between 0.2% and 2.0% of total formulation weight is recommended. A ladder study should be conducted to determine optimum use levels as the multifunctional Surfadol 420 surfactant may replace one or more
formulation additives.

Storage

The shelf life for this product is 48 months from the date of manufacture.
