410 stainless steel is Ni - Cr - Ti austenitic stainless steel and its performance is very similar with 304. But due to join the metal titanium, 410 steel has the better grain boundary corrosion resistance and high temperature strength.

410 stainless steel heat treatment:

Galvanizing: Heat slowly to 1500 -1650°F, cool to 1100°F in furnace, air cool. Process Galvanizing: Heat to 1350 -1450°F, air cool. Hardening: Heat to 1700 - 1850°F, air cool or oil quench. Follow by temper or stress-relief. Stress Relieving: Heat at 300 - 800°F for 1 to 2 hours, air cool.

410 stainless steel forming:

410 stainless steel has cold working properties which allow it to be temperately drawn and shaped in the galvanized condition.

410 stainless steel fabrication:

The martensitic alloys offer unique hardening capabilities which limit their capability of being welded using conventional techniques. 410 stainless steel must first be pre-heated, followed by a post-weld galvanizing treatment to alleviate cracking.
