The thyristor switch capacitor (TSC) is the advanced technology to solve voltage differential problem. It is required to switch when the current is zero. For the 6kV system, the high voltage TSC is used. The valves are connected with in series with several thyristor components which requires highly in synchronization of the trigger system. The main connection is angle connection or the star-connection with central line. In China, the middle voltage system below 35kV is not connected with ground, it is difficult to get central line and the capacitors in series apply the star-type connection without central line. It brings difficulty in reforming the present capacitor group into TSC. Besides, the power electric components have high loss in operation which not only brings additional power loss, but also applies complex cooling system.

 

Creat-Poreen started the SSCS research from 2002. It targeted to solve the complex structure, huge reformation, low running reliability and additional loss, etc problems. Creat-Poreen SSCS-SVC can use the original reactive equipments with low reformation. The equipment applies the solid stat auxiliary break technology, connects the mechanical switch and solid state switch based on thyristor valve in parallel. The switches will not bear arc process during breaking. The capacitive equipment realizes zero input and break and will not bear the impact during switch on/off. After the capacitor group is put into use, the thyristor valve is exited by neighbor circuit to reduce equipment loss and improve reliability. Due to the decrease of the loss, it is unnecessary to increase the cooling system for thyristor valve
