Magnesium oxide (mgo) board
Magnesium Oxide Board (or MgO Board) is a technologically advanced building material that offers
superior performance in every category when compared to traditional wood, gypsum and cement based
products. Magnesium Oxide Board is virtually impervious to fire, water, insects; does not feed mold or
mildew; is non-toxic, non- flammable and non-combustible; is durable, maintains its dimensional
stability-even when wet; and, has exceptional bonding surface. Magnesium Oxide Board is a mineral
based green builder product. And it is homogeneous-no de-lamination.

Benefits & Advantages:
? Non-Toxic material safe to cut
? Resistance to fire, moisture, and wood boring insects
? Lightweight – easy to nail & screw
? ASTM & ANSI tested
? Less energy required to install
? Long lasting materials – reducing repair and replacement costs
? No silica-based Portland cement
? Post-consumer recycled content
? Silica/asbestos-Free
? Advanced Magnesium cement replaces ordinary Portland cement
? Can be used in the place of traditional drywall or cement boards. No special tools required.
? Solid construction – no lamination
? Available in colors.

Applicable Testing:
- Strength – ASTM E72 - Water Vapor Transmission – ASTM E96
- Thermal Transmission – ASTM C518 - Structural Transmission – ASTM E2099
- Water Penetration – ASTM E331 - Mold/Mildew Growth – ASTM D3273
- Surface Burning – ASTM E84 Flame Spread 0
Applications:
In many applications, MgO boards can be used in the same ways as gypsum and Portland cement
sheathings. The substitution is not fully direct in terms of sheet thicknesses, fastening methods
and joint treatments, but is very similar. This makes MgO board an easy product to use.
The possible uses of MgO board are vast, and some of them include: ? Firewalls.
? Partitions. ? Structural sheathing for wood or metal stud walls.
? Shower stall tile backer board.
? Facings for structural panels engineered to use MgO as the facing. ? Shaft liners.
? Ceilings. ? Soffits.
? Fascia. ? Substrates for coatings and insulated systems (such as Direct-
Applied Finish Systems, EIFS, and stucco).
