Definition of CCM Copper Mould Tube
Copper Mould Tube is a very important component of continuous casting machine (CCM).It is placed in the heart position amongst CCM equipments with the function to evenly solidify the liquid steel that pouring through the moulds and make sure the liquid steel come out from the bottom as required shape and size with proper shell thickness. Copper moulds play a crucial role in increasing con-casting efficiency as well as improving steel quality.
Function of CCM Copper Mould Tube:
(1)To solidify the liquid steel and assure the liquid steel that come out of it with required shape and size
(2) To separate the billets & blooms from the inner wall of Copper mould tube without breakout and steel bleeding by oscillating.
(3) By adjusting the parameters of copper mould tube, rhomboidity, bulging, crack and other defects can be avoided;
(4) Make sure the billet shell formed uniformly and stably.
Material of CCM Copper Mould Tube:
Because of the adverse working conditions, the materials of copper mould tubes should be the ones with good tensile strength, fatigue strength, proper hardness, low elongation and high heat conductivity coefficient. The following materials are widely used now: phosphorous deoxidize copper (DHP), CUAG, CR-ZR-CU. The material is accepted by users of all countries.

In order to avoid the inner wall abrasion of CCM Copper Mould Tube and prevent cracks and defects on the billet surface, coating for the copper mould tube inner wall of is needed. Cr is chosen with the thickness 0.06~0.08mm as the regular coating.
