Specifications

Mica can be used in paint and coating to reduce the damage of ultraviolet rays or other light and heat damage to the paint film, promote coating acid and alkali. and insulation, and to strengthen its durability ,freezing resistance corrosion resistance, water resistance etc. It helps to strengthen the adherence to the layer, improve its intensity, brightness, tenacity and compaction. As a result ,it is conducive to reduce the ventilation ,to prevent speckle and chaps as well as reduce sediment in the paint. As a prior filler in paint, mica powder can be used to substitutesome expensive raw materials in the paint so as to reduce the productioncost. Ground mica

The leading use of dry-ground mica in the CN is in joint compound for filling and finishing seams and blemishes in gypsum wallboard (drywall).

Ground mica is used in the well-drilling industry as an additive to drilling fluids

Dry-ground mica is used in the production of rolled roofing and asphalt shingles

Wet-ground mica, which retains the brilliancy of its cleavage faces, is used primarily in pearlescent paints by the automotive industry

Mica is also used as an insulator in concrete block and home attics, and can be poured into walls (usually in retrofitting uninsulated open top walls)

Built-up mica

Muscovite and phlogopite splittings can be fabricated into various built-up mica products

Flexible plate is used in electric motor and generator armatures, field coil insulation, and magnet and commutator commutator core insulation

Sheet mica

Sheet mica is used in electrical components, electronics, isinglass, and atomic force microscopy.

  Electrical and electronic

Sheet mica is used principally in the electronic and electrical industries.

Isinglass

Thin transparent sheets of mica called "isinglass" were used for peepholes in boilers, lanterns, stoves, and kerosene heaters

Atomic force microscopy

Another use of mica is in the production of ultraflat, thin-film surfaces (e.g. gold surfaces) using mica as substrate
