Dark brown crystal or flake,melting point is 282℃, boiling point is315℃.

It is easy to dissolve in water and has strong water imbibition which can absorb the moisture in the air and come into deliquescence.

Application:

1. Used as a purifying agent, mainly used for drinking water purification and industrial wastewater treatment.

2. Used as oxidant and mordant in dyeing industry.

3. Used as catalyst and oxidant in organic synthesis industry.

4. Used as an etching agent for photography, circuit board and copper production.

5. Used as raw material for iron salt, pigment, ink and medicine.

6. Used as chlorination leaching agent in iron mine and copper ore.

7. Put a small amount of ferric chloride solution into building concrete which can gain in strength and prevent water seepage.
