Specifications
The most famous type of culvert pipe is assembled corrugated culvert pipe which is also called Multi-plate Corrugated steel pipe (CSP), corrugated metal pipe (CMP), or nestable pipe are combined by lots of segments which are assembled by more than two galvanized steel arch sheets connected by bolts and nuts. The parts can be economically and easily transported while it can be easily and quickly assembled at work site. Construction and sectional materials can be carried out separately, thus normal materials can be reduced or totally abandoned, which shorten the working period and also protect the environment. The structure of assembly corrugated pipes bears a rational force, and the load of power is distributed. Also the pipes' non-deformability is very well. It is a solution to the damage to the culvert from frost. The road surface above the culvert pipes is very plain, and thus improves the comfortableness of car. These pipes avail to improving the structure of the soft soil foundation and the interlocking of the junction of the embankment, which improves the safeness of the car on the bridge. These maintenance cost of corrugated steel pipes is very low, and the cost of engineering practice is also lower than other bridge culverts. Corrugated steel pipe is a very promising product because of its unique advantages and adaptability. They are widely used in culverts, galleries, bridges, tunnels, temporary detours, drain pipes of highway and railway and mine retaining walls of roadway supporting.
Producing process of corrugated culvert pipes
raw material → cutting → welding → wave rolling → assembling → drilling → galvanizing → storage
(PS: Corrugated structural plates are hot-dip-galvanized with 3-ounce zinc coating, which gives the plate a 40% longer life span than regular corrugated steel pipe.)
The diagram of construction process
1. Wedge backfill
2. The distance is not less than 1.5 m from material to two sides of corrugated culvert pipe.
3. Paving material on both sides symmetrically at same time.
4. Vertical construction process that can from the center to both sides of the culvert, but also from both sides to the center of the culvert.
5. Unsymmetrical backfill would cause the pipe body irregular distortion, easy to cause an accident and collapse.
6. The pipe body would present regular deformation when layered symmetric backfill. After the termination of filling soil, the pipe body would repristinate original state.
