What is a mobile signal booster and how dose the booster work?

Mobile signal booster (also known as mobile signal repeater / amplifier) are designed to amplify a weak outdoor signal and provide a strong inside signal to an poor signal area.

A mobile signal repeater kit has three main parts, an outdoor antenna that receives the initial signal, the repeater that boosts the signal, and an indoor antenna that broadcasts the boosted signal to the inside are that needs it.  All three components are connected together with high quality cable

The repeater system work like this :

1.The outdoor collect the signal and transimit it to the repeater

2.The repeater amplify the signal tansimited and send it to the indoor antenna

3.The indoor antenna broadcast the signal and the mobile phone receive the amplified signal.

Remarks: When there are more than 1 indoor antenna used ,splitter is required.

Full kits of the product often contains 4 parts:

 1. Outdoor antenna (log periodic antenna or yagi antena)

 2. Indoor antenna (ceiling antenna or panel antenna)

 3. The repeater.

 4. Cables(often, 10 meters cable for outdoor and 5 meter for indoor)

 Booster Installation

1.  Mount the outdoor antenna at the suitable place

2. Connect the outdoor antenna to the outdoor side of the amplifier

3. Connect the indoor antenna to the indoor side of the amplifier

4. Connect to the power 

*Why do I lose cell phone signal strength indoors?*
There are several factors that affect signal penetration into buildings including construction material (metal, concrete, wood), wall density, number of windows and building height. In addition to the physical construction of the building, poor signal can also be a result of your geographic location relative to the closest mobile mast. *How to choose a suitable mobile signal booster?

Three points should be concerned when choose a correct booster:

1. Carriers &Network to support
Mobile signal boosters only amplify specific frequencies of radio waves. So,find the carrier & network (2G,3G,4G).
2. Existing outside signal & signal strength
Booster do not create signal but amplify it.  Find a suitable place where  exist signal,you can install the outdoor antenna there. You may choose powerful booster while the mobile signal bar is less than 3.
3. Area needs to cover
The larger area you want to cover, the more powerful booster needed.

*What are the benefits of using a mobile repeater?*

The most apparent benefit is improved mobile signal strength. Signal strength is best in the area where the repeater is mounted.

For example, when a mobile repeater is installed, an area with an unreliable signal of just 1 or 2 bars can be turned into one with a full 4 bars of reception. In some cases, people who have no signal are able to create a cellular 'hotspot'.

This increase in cellular reception will result in clearer phone call quality and fewer dropped calls.
