Installation
Customers can do the installation of the system themselves, aided by an elaborate user guide. However, it is recommended that a trained support engineer, who is trained and has some knowledge about applications, carries out the installation. On-site training and eventually setting up are both available by facotry engineer.
Helpdesk
As for the future technical assistance, the customer can request support on a technical or application level via the normal helpdesk channels. A PC Anywhere package and modem are part of the delivery. When this is judged helpful and the customer allows us to connect with the control PC, this function can avoid on site visits. PC Anywhere sessions are to be regarded as customer support or application support, for which the normal rates should be charged. Software updates will be made available for downloading free of charge. Installation may be done using the PC-Anywhere remote control.
Training
It is mandatory to have sufficient (depending on organization size and size of the installed base) trained employees on the system. Support engineers must be able to solve technical problems as well as understand and trouble shoots the most common application issues. One week course training for the support engineer in our head office in china is very necessary. This course will cover telephone support, modem support, troubleshooting (locally and remotely), radiation safety, software and applications. Those who follow the course will receive a DVD with the last version software, presentations, application databases and other information. Note that there are also application courses organized in the application laboratory.
For engineers already trained and experienced with the spectrometer a dedicated training using videoconferencing over the Internet will be offered. This training will focus on the new technology and the new software functionality. These trainings will be announced separately. A high-speed Internet connection and web cam with microphone are required.
Hardware Repair
Hardware repair is only possible on module level, not component level.
As for the spare parts information, please take our spare part list manual as reference. Spare parts (high-level modules mainly) are available during the whole production and service period in the spare part warehouse in China. The service manual gives an overview of the available spare parts, and provides information on repair procedures.
